This official BN logo was developed in 1970 when Burlington Northern
was formed through a merger of the Great Northern,
Northern Pacific, CB&Q and SP&S. The basic logo never changed until 1996
when BN merged with Santa Fe to form Burlington Northern Santa Fe.
